Apple Products: New Apple iMac Released and New iPad 5

New Apple iMac Released with Haswell Processors

As seen and heard, Apple updated the iMac with the fourth generation Intel Haswell quad core processors up to 3.4 GHz.  This processor presents Intel’s highest graphics capabilities. I am so excited and so are many other graphic designers. It also supports next generation 802.11 ac Wi-Fi.  To take advantage of it you need to be connected to an 802.11 ac base station, such as Apple’s Airport Extreme or Time Capsule. The wireless performance is up to three times quicker than the previous generation. The new iMacs also feature support for PCle-based flash storage. This makes Fusion Drive and all flash storage options up to 50 percent faster. I am very knowledgeable in Apple products and know lots of information by memory so if you do have any questions please feel free to ask.

New iPad 5

It has an inductive smart cover that has its own battery; the charge is sent wirelessly from the smart cover to the iPad as you carry it with you. The cover has its own lightning connection, or take charge from a plugged in iPad and then sent back in the other direction when you use it. This will make the battery charge last longer.

The new iPad 5 will keep the 9.7in Retina Display, however I've heard that the new iPad 5 will have just one LED Light Bar inside (the current iPad has two LED Light Bars). This is said because Apple will be using newer, more efficient LED Light Bars than before.

iPad 5 could have vibrate mode!
Apple has been granted a new chip that would allow Apple to introduce a vibrate mode to its next iPad. The iPad 5 will be lighter and thinner than the iPad 4. iPad 4 weight is 0.146 g and iPad 5 weight is 0.092 g. And it measures 239.2mm and the iPad 4 measures 241.2mm. The awesome news is that they iPad will come in a new color, space grey.

Check out this link to see leaked footage about the iPad 5.
I’ve been asked if the iPad 5 Will the fingerprint sensor?
Yes, I think so. "It wouldn’t make sense not to," quotes Ken from the Verizon store, and it would be bad not to make more use of the research and design work.

New Windows 8.1

As many of you know the new Microsoft’s Windows 8.1 update is now available to download. And as a Student Representative for Window’s I have had the opportunity to show people all the amazing features that the windows has to offer by demos of Microsoft products and the surface pro. You are probably wondering how did I become a representative for Windows. Well I had to apply for the internship and went through many interviews. I was very excited when they called me and told me that I have been selected to represent the Mid American Region. I am a Windows UCrew Campus Representative for Ferris State University. There are 754 of us across 450 campuses. My job is to engage my peers and guide them though experiencing Microsoft products.

Here is a little background on Microsoft. Microsoft was founded in 1975, it is the worldwide leader in software, services, and solutions that help people and business. Microsoft has 90,000 employees worldwide. The key consumer businesses include Windows, Office, Xbox, Windows Phone, and Surface.

Take a Tour

Watch this video to see more of the features of Windows 8.1, and how it brings you the best of the apps and the desktop.

Windows 8.1 PCs and tablets are designed to save power and have long battery life. You will spend less time looking for an outlet to plug it in. You can have your windows, everywhere. The settings and apps come with you. You don't need to change your settings on both devices just one, they will transfer. Only buy the app once and use your apps on up to 5PCs or tablets. My favorite is skydrive. Your files are always with you, wherever you go! Stay connected to your photos and documents with skydrive and an Internet connection.

SkyDrive

Is a free online storage that comes with Windows 8.1. You can save documents, photos and other files to skydive with no problem, and read them anywhere on any pc or device. A lot of college students loved the idea of no longer having to email files to them or carry around a USB flash drive. They can just access it from any pc and continue to work on their projects. It is so useful.

Do you ever have the problem of trying to look at two screens at once? Well with windows 8.1 you can see more, and do more. It lets you work the way you want to work. Depending on the size of your screen, you can see up to four apps at once. You can work on a word file, search the web, watch a video, and much more. No more switching tabs back and forth all the time. Just snap multiple apps side by side in a single view for easy multitasking.

With Windows 8.1 you can make it yours. Personalization is a must. Starting from your start screen customization, to your tiles, and to a personal lock screen. You lock screen shows a slideshow of your favorite photos. In addition, you can answer skype calls, take photos before you even unlock your PC.  And my personal favorite is the picture password. Instead of typing a password, you can unlock by drawing shapes on your photo of your choice with your finger or your mouse. The choice is yours to make it your own. Another feature is Bing Smart Search, search for one thing in multiple places one on screen.
And of course last but not least, is the Window’s store. A place where you can search for any app you want. Many are free to download. You can sort by rating, price, and category. There are so many more features for Windows 8.1; you definitely want to check it out for yourself or ask me if you have more questions. Below is a link to download the new Windows 8.1. Windows 8.1 Download

Hallway Behaviors

As I go through the hallways, I hear swearing all the time, I see girlfriends and boyfriends kissing and touching which seriously they need to get a room or do it someone else but no at school and especially not in the hallways. We don’t want to see it. Also as I see kids walking to class I hear students being disrespectful to teachers, but also students.
Tri County needs to improve their hallway behavior. Swearing for one is breaking the rules and going against what the Bible has to say. And people use swearing just to use it. They think it’s cool to swear but honestly its not. Students need to watch what comes out of their mouths. If you have nothing good to say don’t say anything at all.
Disrespect to teachers/adults/students is a huge factor in the hallways and class. If you want respect, you have to give it. Teachers are here to help us learn, be respectful. Just because maybe you’re having a bad day doesn’t mean you need to make everybody else have one. You should treat everybody with respect even if you don’t really want to. For one you’ll feel better about yourself and teachers will respect you more.
All in all hallway behavior needs to improve. Let’s have TCHS be the school that everybody talks about. Be respectful and do what is right!

"Day in the Life"

If I could live a "day in the life" of any teacher or staff member, I would probably choose
Mr. Simons. Mostly because I think it would be an interesting day. If I was Mr. Simons for a day I would try to make a difference in the lives of students who needed it. The highlights of the day would probably be the opportunity to be in charge of the school. The lowlights would be having to deal with someone who was sent to the principals office and I having to discipline them. Mr. Simons though is an amazing principal he does a fantastic job. But honestly, I don't really think I would want to be someone else..I like being myself...!!

Anywhere In The World

If I could go anywhere other than being here in Michigan during the Winter I would love to go to Villavicencio, Colombia. Mostly, because that's where I was born and I have never been back. Right now its to dangerous to go. From what my parents tell me they says its beautiful. And If I had to take someone with me I would definitely take my family with me. I do hope someday I will be able to go back. As for right now its to dangerous with all the kidnappings and the gorillas. And in Colombia its not as cold there. It would be nice weather and an experience of a life time for me at least. I've often wondered if I could trace back to my birth and find my mom if she is still alive or even if I have brothers or sisters. Anyway if I could go anywhere right now I would travel to Colombia.

NEW YEAR 2009

This is a New Year for new things and new opportunities to grab a hold of. I'm excited for this new year as this is my year. I graduate this year which I am ready for. This is is going to be better than the last just because of all the planning that's going to be going on from graduation night to my graduation party. My new years resolution I would say would be difficult for a lot of people to maintain and for me its not that easy..but I feel it's what God wants and I want too. I'm waiting for the man/guy that God has in store for me. I'm keeping a journal full of love notes that I write to my future husband. Not only am I waiting for my wedding day to share the greatest gift of all to him but I'm letting God write my love story. This new year I'm being a strong woman of God and drawing closer to him. Also another resolution is to lose some weight and learn how to cook a lot of meals for future use.
